The Creative Process: more fun with friends

It’s fall for sure here at Gallery Aferro as the residents cozy into their work on these rainy cool days.
Today residents Emily Tumbleson and Kelly Thomas met up in a studio for tea and what Kelly calls #sistertime but what started out as casual chat quickly evolved into a valuable collaborative process with Emily on camera and Kelly on vocals.  Tumbleson, a new addition to the Gallery, has been developing a series of portraits and newark landscapes, and offered to shoot Thomas as her first in-studio subject. Thomas, a member of essential elements creative collective, took the opportunity to work out the kinks in one of her new songs. The result is a raw account of both artist’s creative processes: both observation and introspection, intuition and technicality. Check out photos and some audio below!
