The opportunity to be seated in a concert hall and listen to world-class musicians conjure such varied and evocative works made for a distilled experience. While it was novel to hear classical music in a venue which didn’t relegate it to the incidental or anecdotal, but allowed the full, detailed showing-off of each instrument’s contribution, the way I would describe my experience was thus:
Each moment was broken down as a structured grid, coming in waves and layering, as a series of musical expressions, complementing or contrasting with the previous layer.
