I’m very fond of Claes Oldenburg’s work and how he interprets everyday items. I’m interested in the manipulation of materials to imitate a familiar object(s). There are so many different ways to recreate the such a common object its exciting to see Oldenburg’s style and his choices. I want to begin a series that uses both soft and hard materials to create hyper-realistic sculptures.
