First experiences matter because it shapes the experiences that come after. This summer, I worked for my first time ever internship at Gallery Aferro, and I think that I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Gallery Aferro’s team is open-minded, kind, and generous. They made me feel like my opinion was worthy of being heard, and they gave me autonomy to manage my own schedule and tasks. The meetings I had with my supervisors were always conversational, fun, and helpful. I felt comfortable asking questions and suggest new ideas throughout the whole duration of my internship. In the chaos of the pandemic, even with the limitations of telecommuting, Gallery Aferro kept me equally grounded and challenged.
